Welp after 2 months, I am finally sharing my Little Man’s First Birthday party.
Needless to say I have been super busy. My baby boy turned one, January 30th. {Sad Face} I’m not a mom to a baby anymore. He has figured the toddler thing out fairly quickly. I finally installed the baby gate on the stairs today. I should have when he started crawling!
The entire month of January consumed me to plan the perfect Little Man First Birthday party. Tatum is not only my youngest but also my tiniest. However, that hasn’t slowed him down! He started walking at 9 months and has since been all over the place. He literally looks like a little man walking around. So…you can guess where I am going with this. The Little Man Party Theme was perfect for his First Birthday Bash.
Being the over-the-top-everything-has-to-be-perfect mom that I am I started planning in November. Little did I know that both of my boys would get sick the two weeks leading up to the party. Tatum ended up with a double ear infection. After the first meds weren’t showing signs of working we headed back to the doctor. Day two of the new meds Tatum woke up on his birthday covered in a rash! Yes, allergic reaction on the poor guy’s first birthday.
Ahhh! So…needless to say I didn’t do all the things I had planned to do but, that’s ok! We still had an awesome party with all of our close family and friends.
Here is an example of the invitation that I made. You can purchase the invitations here. I loved the colors but wanted more gray in my invitation so I made up my own version. I also added a picture to the back and had them printed on linen textured card stock.
Santa brought him a red wagon for Christmas and it was perfect for his gifts!
My mom was a huge help with everything! She made the cake, the cupcakes, the tie cookies and the chocolate mustaches. We are working on getting my mom setup with a blog. The talent she has in the kitchen is amazing. She started making cakes over 25 years ago. She has earned the name “Cupcake” over the years. I have said it before and will say it again-I’ve learned everything from this woman!
For party favors I made these bottle that say “Wet your whiskers”. They were a hit with the kids! I loved the way they turned out.
I had two outfits for Tatum. Since his cake was red and blue I didn’t want him to totally trash his white shirt. I was able to find a cute pair of jeans with suspenders so he went shirtless for his cake smash!
Tatum had a huge smash cake and barely touched it…
That’s because he was too excited about his cookie!
I know, way too much cuteness in that picture! It really shows his personality.
Since Tatum’s party I have hosted my mom’s 50th birthday, my neighbors baby shower, and my sister-in-law’s baby shower. I am going through a few thousand photos and will be sharing them with you soon. I hope you are all having a great weekend!
