I love my DIY Monogram Mirror! This is probably my favorite-of-all-time home decor project that I have made to date!
I don’t have a tutorial, unfortunately, but I wanted to share this…maybe if only to share as a source of inspiration for you all.
I took a horrid old 80’s mirror that I inherited from my in-laws….and turned it into this!
The mirror was really, really bad looking to begin with, it was old and tattered but solid! I just couldn’t bring myself to get rid of it. Mirrors this size are expensive and like I said, it was solid..and heavy! So I held on to it for, literally, years and wouldn’t let my husband throw it out, even though he desperately wanted to.
Here’s a brief summary of how I did it.
{I didn’t take any pictures of the process because I was way to excited and caught up in the design of it all + this was quite a few months back!}
I masked the mirror and spray painted the frame black, then spray painted all of the trim pieces (I bought the really thin trim pieces from Home Depot and the Y from Hobby Lobby). Putting it together was quite easy, but kinda technical. A lot of measuring and centering involved, everything is centered. I laid it all out and traced the layout onto the mirror with a dry erase marker. Then I removed all the pieces and glued them on, following my drawn lay out. After it all dried, I wiped off the dry erase marker.
I must admit that I have this thing for any and all things monogramed. I also really like mirrors, not in a creepy-vain way (because I SO do not hang out looking at myself in mirrors, I run away from them) but I just really like them for the light they reflect.
Combine the two…Bam…a monogramed mirror! I love, love, looove how it turned out. I impressed myself with this one!
Have you ever made a project that you were just so super impressed and in love with how it turned out? What did you make?

What type of glue did you use? I tried to make this with hot glue and then with modge podge and neither stuck well..
