Spring is in the air! One of my favorite Spring projects was these beautiful DIY Cedar Planters that I made for my patio!
You can find the plans for these Cedar Planters here thanks to the fabulous Ana White for the plans.
I made these turquoise cedar planters for my back patio. I used a paint and glaze combo to jazz them up.
Here are some other examples modifying the plans a little. These are really easy to build and cost a fraction of the price to build versus buying them already made.

Beautiful planters because of the paint … It would be so helpful if you would discuss the paint application.

Bonnie – I’d be glad to tell you how they were painted. The white planters were stained with Dark Walnut, let dry, and then painted white, let dry, and then distressed with an electric sander and 120grit sandpaper. For the turquoise planters, Christen painted them turquoise and then applied a tobacco glaze. If you are interested in specific colors or product information, leave us another comment and I’ll see if Christen can get those for you! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
