Hey Friends. It’s been a long time!
As you all know, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. The talk about parties at school has started, lists have come home and my children are filled with excitement!
**Just for the record, aside from having an excuse to decorate with pink and purple, I really kind of dislike Valentine’s Day. I think it’s way over commercialized and kind of ridiculous that ONE day of the year is designated as a “love” day….and I really get annoyed that children do parties at school for a “love” day. I have always felt this way…and always will. My husband and I are opposites when it comes to our opinions on this…I think it means that he gets off easy and he just mostly thinks I’m a Valentine grinch! 🙂 With that being said…I try to keep my opinions to myself and not share with my children so I don’t spoil all their fun! I simply tolerate it :)**
Whew! I feel better now that’s off my chest…;)
Here is what we are doing this year.
And I’m sharing these printable Valentine candy bag toppers with all of you!
Making these candy bags for Valentine handouts is one of the oldest tricks in the book. Years ago, I used to make them with good ol’ fashioned stamps and scrap book paper. Remember those? I have a closet full of stamping supplies and papers that I never use anymore. I’ve gone digital and I love it. It’s so much cleaner 😉 Christen is much better trained in the Adobe Suite than I and she can whip up some really cute stuff, really quick. I’m still trying to figure it all out…but this is just one of the many creative avenues that Christen and I both share a love for!
Any whoooo…here are a few owl themed printable Valentine candy bag toppers that I came up with for my twins. It’s their first school Valentine party! They are so excited. And being that they are boy/girl twins…I had to make matching boy/girl Valentine’s to hand out. I know…they aren’t going to stand for that much longer!

When I working on the printable Valentine candy bag toppers for my twins, I couldn’t stop there…oh no, my two older children wanted me to make them some too.
They actually sat down and helped me design them. It was fun to hear their ideas and was quite entertaining to me that their ideas and color choices matched their personalities perfectly 🙂
My 9-year-old is bold, bright and a stand-out type of girl.
My 11-year-old is quiet and subdued..and she loves pink.
Cheers!
